I love how they drink and smoke on stage. This really was in the good old hippie days, now wasn’t it.. :)

Drlluc, I stand corrected, you are right! But I still insist Dodds would be impressed. ;-) Seriously thank you for pointing out my error. Regards, J.

I think in the original version the clarinet player is Omer Simeon! ;)

  6. fuzzbear6240 says:

HELLO CENTRAL! :-) Even Johnny Dodds would be amazed at that clarinet playing! All ’round fantastic performance. Thanks Arne.. Regards, J.

Almost unbelievable perfection-Jelly Roll Morton would have been proud to be associated with this outstanding band. This is the medicine the doctor should have prescribed for me years ago!

Very nice! Peruna Jazzmen are some of the very best in doing this early New Orleans style.

I have the Jelly Roll Morton version, and would venture to say that this one is equally brilliant.
I can’t stop listening to it.

    Blimey!

  15. Jazzbobill says:

An original by King Oliver, but the only one for me is the Jelly Roll Morton version as loosely followed by this wonderful band.

Oustanding groove and feel and great polyvoice. Excellent vocals as well. I watched it five times over and stomped my feet the whole time. One of the best hot tunes ever recorded.
